Jeongsim Izadi

Jeongsim arrived at the University of Maryland as an international student in 1997 from South Korea. She moved to California in 1999 and completed an Associate degree in registered nursing program from Mission College in Santa Clara, CA, and later a bachelor’s degree in Registered Nursing from Cal State, East Bay. She completed her master’s degree in Science of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Holy Names University in Oakland, CA, in 2020. Jeongsim has worked as a Hospice Nurse since 2006. This included working at the bedside as a hospice case manager, managing patients’ pain and symptoms until their end of life, and supporting the grieved families. While working in the direct care of all different diseases of the hospice patients, she learned and acquired valuable and extensive assessment skills that she applies in her primary practice. She worked as a night and weekend hospice triage nurse while working toward her BSN. After completing her BSN, Jeongsim was promoted to patient care manager and actively opened a new branch as the business grew. She then became the branch manager. She also served as a member of an agency leadership team with overall responsibility for overseeing and managing the clinical, staff, and patient care services. While working with hospice patients and families, she realized the importance of primary preventative care and decided to continue her studies toward becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. Jeongsim’s goal is to apply her knowledge and experience toward the prevention of chronic diseases and promote clients' health and wellbeing of clients in our community.
